Overheating/lock out problems

by johnatt » Mon Oct 13, 2008 8:56 pm

I have a gravity fed hot water system with pumped radiators. Every so often it overheats and locks out. The only thermostat is on the boiler and it it does this whatever it is set at. Once or twice it has done it when the central heating is on and the radiators were nearly boiling. Is it the boiler thermostat that is dodgy. I wondered about a cylinder thermostat as well but thats not an easy job as there is no where to run the wire. Also the boiler is in an unheated room with 3 oustide walls and I have noticed it happens when it is a cold morning after a warm night before. Help!!
