My boyfriend is about to have a laminate floor put in his living room, we thought it would be best to paint the walls, woodwork, radiators and ceiling before the floor is laid so as not to risk getting paint on the new floor - but the joiner thought this was odd that we were painting first (although he did not explain why)...would appreciate any advice you may have about which order is best to do this job in?
Many thanks!
Karen
Get the painting done first Karen....Why take chances. In the building trade its usually the painting which gets done last but then again professional tradespeople should not be making any kind of mess !!
Hi,
I would definetely reccomend doing the painting after your floor had been laid as laying the floor can leave quite a few scrapes and tears on your paint work
Nah, I'd put the floor down last. The worst that could happen is you get a couple marks on your glosswork/skirting boards assuming care is being taken.
You don't want dust, paint or filth on your lovely new floor. Treat it like carpet.
