I have had some painting done on (old) bare plaster that was previously wallpapered. It was not prepared in any way apart from filling/sanding dents. The paint used was a silk. :(
I now want to paint/wallpaper over.
If I wallpaper, do I just size with paste, then paper over?
If I paint, should I seal with a quality sealer / PVA first, or just go over it with new paint?
if its bare plaster then seal with watered down water based paint at a ration of 60:40 paint:water with a dollop of pva for good measure. size if papering.
if its already painted and the paint is sound then you can paint straight on top (give it a wipe with a cloth first) there is no need to size first on painted surfaces but if in doubt it does no harm to size anyway.
