Painting a Plastic Coated Garage Door Faded by the Sun

by Phil66 » Sun Dec 06, 2015 10:46 am

Hello everyone,

We have a plastic coated garage door, it's south facing and the sun has faded it and it looks shabby now.

What products would you recommend? It has a woodgrain texture but no wood grain colouring.

Thanks

Phil

There is no top coat, or finish paint we have found yet which adheres to a plastic surface successfully Phil. You will need to prime the surface first with something called Zinsser which will give you a great, solid base on which to paint any top coat of your choice. Ive put a link here to a 2.5 litre tin but if you only have 1 door to do you may well only need a litre tin.
