Pan outlet to soil stack too low on posh new loo

by Tom Cox » Sun Dec 05, 2010 6:19 pm

Hello,

I have a lovely posh new high cistern toilet which is to go in the same place as my old, low level cistern toilet. The high level cistern toilet outlet pipe is shorter than that on the low level cistern toilet so the pan will need to be much closer to the wall. The soil stack is angled so if I shorten the pipe, it will be too low to fit to the outlet hole in the pan. This is really hard to describe in words and I hope you can visualise my problem!!!!! Basically I want to know how to connect one to the other without undergoing major wall dismantling and such.

Tom

As you say, some problems are really difficult to describe in words on a forum but as I understand it, the outlet on the new loo doesn't line up with the soil stack opening
This is a common problem when installing new services and can be dealt with by using a flexible pan connector
Screwfix sell them @ £10.99 but of course also available from any plumbing outlet
Hope that this helps and let us know how you get on
