Part P confirmation

Hi can anyone confirm if by changing a standard 240v light fitting to 12v downlighters requires it to be part P.

Hi only if they are in a 'special location' ie bathroom or kitchen, as you will be 'materially altering the circuit' by inserting the transformer you can't claim like-for-like replacement,
