patio bed

I am just doing a patio at the moment i have just put the hardcore down and whackerd it down now for the bed i am going to use a dry mix of sand and cement my question is would i need to whacker the sand at all at first or just screed it?

No you dont need to wacker it,but pva the back of the slabs as it will help them bond better to the screed.

The weight of the slab will hold it in place,PVA would not be needed
