Pilaster columns

by COPPER MAN » Mon Nov 28, 2011 10:58 pm

Could people suggest some website where I might find Pilaster columns (external), I have a small roof extends over my front door with wood pillars 4" x 4" square about 2 mtrs long which are rotten at the bottom and need replacing. I thought of plastic ones because there is no real weight on them. If I was to replace them with wood they would rot away to quickly but on saying that I have seen on new builds with galvanized risers which lift the wood off the ground by a few inches, can anyone suggest where I can purchase these.

With thanks Copper Man

in all honesty your best to build brick pillars up to a minimum height of 300mm,then you can attach your post to them. The brickwork will stop the posts rotting.
