I started putting a wall kitchen cabinet up yesterday.
I was going to use Blue 25mm GripIt fixings but I found on drilling the 25mm hole that the plaster/plasterboard went back at least 40mm (I didn't want to go any further.
Obviously I can't use the GripIt fixings and being somewhat of a novice I am a bit confused as to why I came across 40mm+ of plaster. Could anyone enlighten me and more to the point what I should do moving forward with regards to filling the big hole I now have and what fixings I should now use.
Hi droopdiydoctor Fill the hole to within 5mm of the finished face with some plaster, let this set then do a top coat. If your walls are plasterboard the corkscrew type fixing will be ok. Where you have filled, drill a hole and use a standard plastic plug. Regards S
