Plasterboard - wall and ceiling joints

Post by SEP1664 » Thu Mar 27, 2008 10:52 am

Hi all,

I have built a small screen wall (floor to ceiling) but juts out into the room only 70cm. I have covered the frame in plasterboard, which I intend to plaster (have not had a wealth of experience but have done a couple of small jobs which seemed to go OK...).

My question is, I know I should tape the joints in the plasterboard but what about where the plasterboard meets the ceiling (currently bare plasterboard too) and where it meets the wall (this also needs plastering!)? Should I use the tape at right angles into the corners?

Thanks,

Steve

Hi SEP1664,
Yes you tape all joints as they will crack open when plaster starts to dry, or any movement in wall.
