Plastic Roof Soundproofing That's Very Noisy When Raining Questions and answers on many aspects of soundproofing areas of your home

I live in an apartment and have a covered balcony with a plastic roof. It's hell when it rains and I need to soundproof it.

I have no idea how to do it and have no access to the roof from the outside (6th floor) Should I use a second layer of plastic inside with an air gap?

Should I fill the gap with foam?

Any advice will be much appreciated!
