I have a pond with some interesting wiring. There is a double pole ip66 switch which has a grey three core mains cable directly connected to it with the other end directly connected to a three pin plug connected to a timer and mains socket located in the electrical enclosure. I have tested the mains socket and it is powered on.
In addition to the grey mains cable, the double pole switch has two black sheathed three core cables running into it. One directly connects to a uv filter and the other connects to a connector block in the electrical enclosure so that when the double pole switch is turned on, both the pump and uv filter are also on and visa versa.
Unfortunately, when I removed the cover to the double pole switch the wiring became disconnected so that I have two blue neutral cables and two brown live cables not presently connected to anything. I tried to connect the two blue cables together and also the two brown cables which seemed logical but the switch no longer allows the uv filter and pump to operate.
