Position of consumer unit

Post by littlemeesh » Fri Nov 30, 2007 5:52 pm

Is there any reason NOT to place a consumer unit underneath a combi boiler? Customer wants this for ease of access and keeping services close to each other. His worries are boiler leaks obviously but it's going to be a new boiler so shouldn't have any problems.

Any advice appreciated.

Thanks

hi littlemeesh,
Simple answer, yes a least 2 reason why you should not do this.
Just because the boiler is sound now does not mean it will always be so,
plus they CU should be installed where young children can not interfere with them.
Hope info helpfull if not what you wanted to hear, always be safe when electrics are concerned.
