Problem with 8 lamp ceiling fitting

by muxloe » Fri Nov 23, 2007 5:23 pm

Hi,

I wonder if anyone can help with replacing a light fitting query?

I'm trying to wire an 8 lamp ceiling fitting, but I can't relate the wiring diagram to the unit supplied.

Initially it looks simple (brown, blue, yellow) coming from the unit's electronic converter into (red, black, yellow) coming from the ceiling. I assume the silver wires coming out of this unit are for switching:)

Well I fitted that but nothing happend, the unit has 8 other pairs of blue and brown wires, 1 for each of the lamps. These wires are not connected
to the electronic converter, I know cos I took it out of the unit.

Do they want me to connect each lamp's blue and black wires separately
to the plastic connector and then wire up the electronic converter's to the same? It's seems insanely complicated.

Is there a simple answer, I've tried the rest of the web but no joy.

ps No I didn't buy the lamp but guess who'll be taking it back!

I have a scanner and can provide further details if required.

Many thanks

HI muxloe, when you say yellow, I guess you mean green and yellow (earth)?
It should be wired Green/Yellow to Green/Yellow earth terminal, Red to Brown (phase live) , Black to Blue (neutral)
