Radiators hot at the top and only warm at the bottom

by Dav » Thu Jan 10, 2008 8:02 pm

Hi,

New to this forum. I'm having problems trying to get all the radiators to fully heat up at the bottom of the radiators. Two storey house 5 radiators upstairs 8 radiators downstairs all run off a Vokera Syntesi e Combi Boiler located in kitchen (sealed system). Radiators are worse upstairs than downstairs.

I put a cleaner in the system for 7 days, then flushed the system out 3 times, with clear water flowing out on third go. System now topped, inhibitor in, pressure on boiler as per manual and all radiators have been bled, but still the radiators are only getting warm at the bottom.

Any suggestions as to what to do next would be much appreciated.

Thanks

I would remove every radiator and flush out with a hose - it could be a build up of sludge in the bottom of the radiators. A system flush should have moved this - but without taking the radiators off you'll never know.

Once you've flushed them all - remember to add inhibitor again.
