raise and seal manholes

Post by darren.c » Thu Nov 08, 2007 8:07 pm

Hi, i have just been told by my conservatory builders that i have 2 manholes that need to be relocated, or if that is not possible they can be raised and sealed on the floor of my consevatory, obviously for accessibility, these will be basically inside my new room. i am concerned of smells or gases building up. please can someone reassure me that this is THE NORM, thanks

raise and seal manholes

hi , yes this is normal and acceptable. i had been a wall and floor tyler for some years, and in conservatories this is the method employed, no smells and you can even have the manhole covers that accept tiles so that it becomes inconspicuous, ie: it should blend right in....
