Re-pointing a patio

by neil j » Thu Mar 26, 2009 4:47 pm

My patio needs re-pointing but it does not have a drain. What mix should I use to ensure that rainwater will pass through it.

You don't want it to. The patio should have a fall to allow the rainwater to run off.

Cheers

Hi

Point your patio using a 4 parts building sand to 1 part cement and a drop of fed mix.

Jet wash your patio and throughly clean out all the joints.

Make sure the mix is nice and creamy and has a good depth or it will
crack and chip out (back to square one)

Dont mix large amounts just workable amounts and gauge everytime.

Dont worry about the water it must have drained fine before and I'm sure
it will again.

Bye
