Re-screeding a concrete floor.

by XmisterIS » Wed Dec 30, 2009 12:40 pm

Hi all,

I have removed the screed from the concrete floor in my lean-to conservatory because it was blown.

I intend to re-screed it using this guide: https://www.diydoctor.org.uk/projects/floorscreeding.htm

There is a bit that I find confusing, in the text around the second diagram.

Does it mean that I should completely fill the areas between the wooden screeds with concrete screed? Or should I just make "sausages" of concrete screed up against the wooden screeds and then fill in when I remove the wood?

Also, it shows the concrete not directly in contact with the wood (float in between), but it then says the wood should be wetted to avoid sucking moisture from the concrete mix ... but the way the diagram is drawn, the concrete isn't in contact with the wood? Am I missing something?

I am confused!
