Reconfiguring Kitchen Plumbing to Allow for New Dishwasher

Postby DIY2023 » Sun Nov 12, 2023 12:04 pm

Hi,

I have just purchased a new home whose kitchen currently has the plumbing ready to recieve a washing machine but not a dishwasher and I would appreciate some advice on how to do this. Refer to attached sketches which show my idea on how to re-plumb.

At some point in the future (when funds allow) we will get the kitchen completley fitted out and replumbed but just want to get these white goods installed to allow us to use them in the meantime

Could anyone give me some advice on whether what I am proposing is easy enough for someone of minimal DIY plumbing experience to have a go at and what fittings I would need to do it?

Simply Build It

Hi diy2023,
The easiest way of achieving this is to fit a Y connector onto the cold feed pipe (turn water off and undo the existing blue nut) and fit your washing machine and dishwasher onto the branches. Both machines can be fed into the standpipe.
