Removing and changing a stair case

Post by l1zz1e0507 » Mon Apr 13, 2009 7:05 am

I am looking at a proprty in need of modernisation. i am looking at the possibility of changing th staircase to a spiral or open stair case.
How easy/practical would this be and would it require planning permission?

Thanks :)

It will certainly require building regs. A spiral staircase can normally be put in with minimum fuss from the BCO IF its a secondary staircase. Theres lots of interpretation by Building Inspectors as regards Part K. You'd be better off springing down there and having a chat about it.

Cheers
