Removing cement!!

Postby Markuk » Sun Sep 05, 2010 3:39 pm

Hi,

I had someone round to lay some concrete slabs while i was away.
He only had access to the garden, and the naughter keep her eye on him lol. well you never know.

Anyway, he seemed to lay them ok. but he put neat cement in the joints(not sure why he didn't mix sand and cement), and never cleaned the access on the edges of the slabs. anyway, i cut the lot out my self, which looks alot better now, and from what i read on here, is to use sharp sand and cement brushed in the caps, and let it dry on it's own?. but i cant get the left over cement off the slabs he didn't clean off. can someone give me some ideas of the best way to do this please :)

Thanks alot.

Markuk,
You have cement on the face of concrete slabs and there is no way to remove these left-overs - chisel off the worst areas and leave to weather.
