Removing Knotting solution

by gsepe » Wed Apr 25, 2007 10:54 am

Hello all,

1st post from me.. looks a useful site, hoping you can help me with this query.

Currently renovating a victorian house and need some advice on doors, or rather, how to remove knotting solution....?

My wife has applied knotting solution to the knots in the wood prior to staining the wood.. only when trying to stain the wood has she realised that the knotting solution cannot be pentrated by the stain, leaving clear circles on the wood!!

We have tried nitromors and sanding to get rid of the solution to no avail. Short of buying new doors (again) or glossing over them does anyone have any ideas?

Thanks
Gsepe
