Removing old flue from wall after capping off gas fire

Postby elfranco1 » Thu Aug 20, 2020 7:10 pm

I have spent ages searching but so far only hit on solutions for chimneys etc.
We have had the gas fire in the house we moved into capped off so that we can remove it, all safe. However while the dismantling is not to much of an issue I am not sure what to do with the horizontal flue that goes out via the wall and is cemented in. From the pictures below is anyone able to give any advice on how to get the flue lose and the best way to fill the hole?

Hi elfranco1
The wall above the flue pipe is a right mess so suggest, you cut this out, remove the old flue, the cut in some new bricks to make good the hole.
