Rendering Advice for Scratch Rendering Wall Beside Decking

Post by Twiddle » Sat Oct 27, 2018 3:25 am

Hello

Really need some starter tips for my Diy work.
As you can see from the picture I am building a single wall of common concrete bricks to be the sides of a decking area, the wall for aesthetics I want to be scratch render white. There is no insulation properties, the wall is above the decking by 7.5cm so the render will go up and over the top of the wall.

I don't know which render type to use, I've never brick layer before but I managed it, I've never rendered before but want to do my own to learn (I'm an electrician by trade so this isn't me switching skills) I'm concerned about cracks so can you advise the render I should use that is in your opinion forgiving of amateurs and most suitable? Monocouche or base and finish, if the latter which two go well together?

Many thanks in advance
