Repainting brickwork

by Julia Drake » Mon Apr 30, 2007 12:57 pm

I have just cleaned the existing masonry paint off red brick and the paint
is easily flaking off in large chunks.
I wish to repaint the brickwork, as the 2 sides of the house are in a different finish.
What can I do to ensure that the paintwork I do does not flake off in the same way in a year or so?

The brickwork can be sealed first using a product commonly called Primer Binder. Your local decorators merchants (not DIY store) will stock this or at least be able to order it for you.
