Repairing Rusted Interior Kitchen Window Sill

Post by susemb » Tue Oct 16, 2018 9:47 am

I'm trying to tidy up my kitchen window as there's rust showing through. I think I've fixed the issue causing the rust (leaking overflow from upstairs bathroom) as it's been looking dry for a few weeks now. I've sanded back some of the peeling paintwork but have uncovered crumbling and rusted corners.

What would be the best course of action from here? I was hoping to neaten up the corners (plaster?) then repaint it but am worried about the extent of the rust rust. Hoping the whole lot doesn’t need taking out!!

Any advice welcome!

Sounds like the plaster galvanised corners have gone. The product in the link below should help.
