replacing a 2D lightbulb

by jo94 » Wed Dec 05, 2007 7:05 pm

Hi, I have a 28watt 4 pin 2D bulb in my kitchen. Its not working. I was trying to replace it but cannot remove the bulb. It seems to be stuck. I don't want to pull to hard on it as I'm afraid of pulling the whole fitting out of the ceiling. Anyone got any ideas? Do I need to get an electrician in?
Thanks.

Hi some 2D fittings have a locking tongue on side of white plastic centre section which needs squeezing in before lamp can be removed, look at new lamp to see if any way it could be locked in to fixed socket part of fitting.
they need this due to weight of lamp,
good luck,
