Replacing an exterior light

by mrbuchanan » Mon Aug 17, 2009 12:30 pm

I have removed the old PIR light, there are 4 wires coming from the wall - red, blue, yellow and green/yellow. The new light, which also has a movement detector, is only asking for live, neutral and earth. There is also an internal wall switch that allowed me to have the old light on permanently. How do I wire the new light (to operate in the same way if possible)?

mrbuchanan,
Buy yourself a PIR light with an override capability. Note where the wires go in the existing light (probably marked L,N, SL,E) and follow this for the new light.
