Replacing and Wiring up an Extractor fan

Postby Ste123321 » Mon Oct 14, 2019 2:15 pm

Hi, my extractor fan in the bathroom stopped working a while ago, it is probably the motor but I am going to replace the whole thing, there is a pay test sticker on it from the 90’s so I think it’s for the best haha (I only moved in last year). Anyway, I was wondering if it is as simple as buying the same sized extractor and then wiring it in? They are only about £20 brand new off eBay. Also, the extractor fan grille (see images) is completely closed at the back of my property? Is this normal? Surely it should be open to let the air out? Any help is much appreciated, thanks.
