Replacing bedroom ceiling light... Arghhhhh..........

by Roofless » Mon Sep 22, 2008 7:00 pm

Im trying to replace the ceiling light in an upstairs room with a 3 spotlight light. I noticed there are 2 NEUTRAL wires, 1 LIVE, 1 EARTH and 3 red LOOP wires. These are all fitted inside the rose in the attached terminal block. The new light only has a 4 way terminal block attached. Been to Homebase and they only sell 6 way terminal blocks! Anything I can do?? Im a desperate woman!!

Not sure why you need more than 4 terminals? There are quite a number of drawings and instructions in the Projects section or if you can't understand them there is http://www.ericpalmer.fsnet.co.uk/Lighting.html and right at the bottom of page may help you out.
Do make sure you don't get switch and loop wires mixed up.
