Replacing Low Level Toilet with Cast Iron Waste Pipe With Close Coupled Toilet

by ShelleyP » Wed Aug 12, 2015 10:52 am

Hi. I'm hoping someone can help us and tell us what we need to buy and do to replace a low level toilet with a close coupled toilet in our 1960s house.

We want the new toilet to fit as flush as possible with the wall but all info we can find shows the low level waste pipe going through the floor and ours goes through the wall.

We'd like to attach it to present waste down pipe that goes outside.

Can we cut the pipe (we think it's cast iron?) a few inches from the wall and fit new toilet onto this?

What fittings would we need?

Is this possible?

Thank you.
