I was just about to buy a new free standing fridge-freezer to replace an integrated unit that's failing. Samsung say that I should have a 50mm gap at the sides of the fridge whereas Bosch for example have no requirement. If I bought the Samsung, having taken out the integrated carcass, I'd only have about 8mm either side, but plenty at the top and I'd probably stand it on a small plinth allowing increased ventilation under the unit and across the back. Should I get the Samsung or get a make that doesn't specify a gap. Is Samsung being over cautious or what?
