hey folks, i feel embarrassed posting this. It probably is the worst diy task one may have undertaken, granted i've never done diy before.
So i had this flat roof shed (https://imgur.com/a/iIEy0dV) which had this exposed plywood for years. It is water damaged/popping out in some areas. Otherwise the shed fixtures are standing strong. I applied a felt roofing, using 20mm clout nails to pin it down into the wood and then a bit of felt lap adhesive between the 2 laps. It is only to be used to house weight equipment without getting wet so not trying to make it look fancy but it looks like so at the minute: https://imgur.com/a/iIEy0dV. I can't help but think I've used far too many nails, making it easier for water to seep through? Is this the case, and how else can I further cover it so water seepage is at a bare minimum? I also didn't apply an adhesive between the wood and the felt as I figured with the condition of the wood it'd be futile.
Should have gone along roof rolling out the felt to give over lap each end and back by around 60mmand fixed to facia and along the overlap strip on the felt so next sheet covers nail heads before laying second strip mastic the overlap strip and so on a third strip if needed . Why mastic overlap? It stops possible capillary action of rain being drawn up between sheets as well as holding down second layer.. if it dont leak it's ok but if not done already dab mastic over nails.
