Schreiber wardrobe doors won't stay open

Postby Liz_limpet » Wed Feb 15, 2023 10:04 pm

Hi, this is probably a very basic question, but we just bought a house with built-in wardrobes and I cannot fathom why one side (the left hand side) of the pair of doors won't stay open whilst the other happily stays open... I am quite handy diy-wise but I don't fully understand how these hinges work so don't now if it's a case of adjustment, or whether they have been installed in the wrong place on the door, creating some kind of tension. Any ideas gratefully welcome!!! Pictures attached...

Hi Liz-limpet,
Is probably just adjustment of the hinges. Slacken the clamp and adjustment screws (the ones in the centre of the hinge) on the middle and lower hinge and try the door again. If this solves the problem you’ll have to play around with the adjustment.
