Secure timber frame to metal studs

by Dave1970 » Sat Jun 04, 2022 7:35 am

Hi, I need to build a timber frame to hold a door liner but its is in my daughters new flat which has metal studs behind the plasterboard. I've purchased a detector for cables and pipes but as the studs are metal this is not much use for pipes, I'm paranoid about drilling into a pipe, any tips how to avoid pipes would be very welcome. Thanks

Hi dave1970,
Drill carefully or cut viewing holes in the plasterboard which can be stuck back in place once you have done.
