Securing Step in Barn Conversion Using Antique Iron Screws

by DBessell » Thu Mar 19, 2015 4:06 pm

I have a wooden step in a barn conversion that I need to secure. It rests on a strip of concrete along one long edge and a wooden board on the other long edge. I am looking to secure with antique iron type screws, one in each corner, that need to be about 60mm long if they are to go through the board and into the materials beneath.
1. Would a common type of screw be suitable for both concrete and wood and
2. I have tried to find 60mm iron / stud screws but can't find them anywhere. Does anyone know where I might get hold of them?
3. If antique looking screws don't exist, what is the best alternative?
Thanks.
