security intercoms

Just moved into a block of flats with a secutiry intercom system. People can hear us when we press our button, but we cannot hear the person at the door. Is this an easy fix, or do we need an electrician?

Is it rented or do you own it?
If rented contact your landlord to fix it,
if you own it, best call a electrician.
