Self Levelling Compound to Skirting Board

by iamtheresurrection » Wed Jul 24, 2019 8:26 am

Hi. I'm in the process of laying new vinyl to my hallway. I've ripped up the old carpet to find some sharp edges and holes (<5mm). So it looks like I'm going to have to level the floor before laying.

I really don't want to have to take up the skirting boards to do this and am curious if it'd be possible to thin the compound out towards the skirting so that the gapping at the bottom is still exposed.

Never used compound before so unsure of the consistency of it and if this is possible? Or will it naturally find its way to the gaps?
Any help appreciated.
