I am replacing floorboards (nominally 22 mm thick) with chipboard (nominally 18 mm thick) I was expecting a 4 mm height difference which I was going to compensate for with 3 mm harboard (1 mm difference to be absorbed by underlay) in fact the height difference varies from 1 mm to 3 mm so I am looking for various thickness shims to compensate any ideas?
