Should TRVs be Left Fully Open or Closed?

by Jim.h » Mon Jan 02, 2017 7:17 pm

Hi
I have fitted a new central heating thermostat in the hall but near radiators fitted with TRVs. Should the valves be left fully open or should they be closed?

You should put the thermostat as far away from the radiator as possible, otherwise the heat from the rad will keep turning the stat off. So! if you want it to work in that position you would have to turn the rad off.
