Should you undercoat when painting putty?

Postby johnBmax » Sun Jul 02, 2023 11:22 am

When the putty is ready for painting, can you go on with undercoat first, without priming? or should you lip the glass with primer, undercoat, then finished coat?

Hi johnbmax
Yes you should definitely undercoat the putty then apply finish coat.

Many thanks, so do I take it that the putty does not require primer?

Hi johnbmax,
No primer needed as long as you use oil based undercoat and finish coat.
