Shower Head has Stopped Spraying Mid Way Through Shower? Drainage and wastage systems and plumbing help, advice and answers

I have a fixed shower head which mid shower suddenly stopped spraying and the water came down in a stream from the centre of the head. I removed the head and thoroughly cleaned it so there is now no limescale, although I don't think there was much there anyway. However it has made no difference and I don't know what else to check. The water pressure seems the same as it always was although how can I be sure? It seems pretty fierce with the shower head removed - quite a fast jet of water comes out. Any ideas on what could be the problem?

I sorted it. Although the shower head seemed perfectly clean I soaked it in vinegar for 2 hours and it now works properly again. Miracle! Only problem is I now have a washer over that I don't know where it belongs.
