If I turn my shower on only running cold water, everything is fine, but if I turn it onto the hot water setting, it instantly blows the RCCB. Nothing else connected to the RCCB has this effect.

I am presuming there is a fault with the heating element of the shower, but before I replace the shower, could there be any reason that replacing the shower won't fix?

Without the correct test equipment you will never know, but based on what you have written I would agree with your logic.
