Have just replaced a old shower (working well but tired)) worked by hot water from the system and cold water from a header tank in the loft. New shower unit is a manual type with a hot and cold feed. The mixer receives the water and flows it up through pipe to further piece at right angle to 6 inch drench type shower head. Before fitting mixer I had good flows from both hot and cold supply. After fitting found that the cold water barely flowed and the hot just a little better. Have checked hot and cold for airlocks using bathroom taps and they seem ok or is the airlocks in the shower pipes? This is the second unit I've fitted the first one did the same. Can anyone advise..........
almost certainly this is a pressure issue. you have probably bought a high pressure shower designed for use with a pump or minimum head. check the installation instructions that came with the shower it will detail the minimum system requirements.
if it is a pressure problem all is not lost - you can fit a pump which will hopefully be the most expedient solution.
