Slow draining and poor toilet flush

by inch high » Sun Aug 17, 2008 11:37 am

Hi folks,

Lately I've noticed that the bath is draining very slowly and when I'm having a shower, the water starts to fill up - it cant drain as fast as the water comes. Also, when I flush the toilet, sometimes a bit of toilet roll will still be there floating about...

What course of action should I take?

Id take out the trap on your bathwaste and clean all the gunk, hair and neng out of it.
Your toilet might not be suffering from a blockage.
Modern cisterns are smaller and hold less water. The float operated valve arm may be set too low or perhaps you have put a brick in your cistern.

Thanks for the reply mate...

I'll try the trap.

My toilet is the old style with the bigger cistern, the float allows plenty of water to fill up, so its defo using the max water....
