Slow filling toilet due to slow water flow

Postby Scoocs » Sun Sep 18, 2022 10:42 pm

Hi

I’ve got a very slow filling toilet which upon opening the cistern is due to the water coming very slowly out of the pipe and into the cistern.

In the attached picture the white plastic spout on top of the cream pipe is where the water comes out and into the cistern but it’s just a trickle. I’ve checked that the valve outside the cistern is fully open and the float doesn’t appear to be the problem.

The circular part looks like it maybe comes off but it didn’t appear to turn by hand. Does anyone know if I can open it and is it possible for it to be clogged?

Thanks

Simply Build It

Hi scoocs,
Most likely if debris in the fill valve. Turn off the water, undo the knurled nut and prise out the washer. This will give you access to the fill nozzle which you may be able to clear by turning the water back on.
Do note which way round the washer was fitted mark it before you remove it.
