Socket swap to a RCD fused sput unit

Need a liitle advice, can a single socket on the ring main be swapped and a RCD fused spur unit as a direct replacement.....

In the main yes. In some cases the RCD unit may be thicker than a socket so it would depend how deep the original is. This is a standard way to add sockets.
