Solar water heating, radiators AND underfloor - possible?

by Apo » Sun Jul 13, 2008 8:16 pm

I am about to upgrade my kitchen, and am exploring options for heating it. What I am wondering is if it is possible to have a system which heats the kitchen by underfloor water pipes, heats the rest of the house using the existing radiators, and also incorporates a solar water heater, and if so which boilers are thought to be good. I have heard about a german company called Rotex, and think they may be able to do something like this.

Any views gratefully received, and don't hesitate to correct any misconceptions that my question exposes!

Cheers

Hi Apo,

I install ‘domestic solar hot water systems’ and it’s a big subject depending on lots of variants regarding what system you have, what you want to get out of the system, and a whole lot more, have a look at Grantuk.com ~ Householder ~ Product Area ~ Solar Thermal & PVS, or google ‘solar heating’ and do some reading before you do anything.

All the best

Thanks - I'll check that out and see what it says.
