Sound proofing air duct for new flue

Post by SteveT » Mon Dec 17, 2007 10:33 am

We have just had a new boiler installed. The new flue has been installed in the existing air duct. Our problem is that the room much nosier than before. Any suggestions of how to sound proof the flue / air duct? What non-combustible sound proof insulation materials are available / suitable?

Any ideas will be welcome.

Air ducting pipes can be noisy if they are not properly soundproofed.so you can done
Special Soundproofing wrap will cut down on the sound and vibration that is emitted from the pipes. There is insulation on the market that is designed to be thin and lightweight enough to be able to install it around pipes in hard-to-reach areas but durable enough to last for a long time. There is also a foil covering that protects the wrapping and piping from the elements.Insulation materials are 6630 DMD insulation paper/non-woven fabric and polyester film ...6630 DMD INSULATION PAPER
