Soundproofing Only Ceiling and Foor for Singing

Postby cako » Mon Jan 04, 2021 1:40 pm

Hi everybody!

My wife is a singer, she has to train her voice daily and play a digital piano to accompany her studies (not very loudly). We have to live in an apartment floor so we decided to make the corner room her training room.

This way we eliminated the same floor neighbors from being disturbed, since they are minimum 3 walls apart from her room. But we still want to soundproof the floor and ceiling. Is something like this possible? Or do we have to soundproof all the walls too to be effective?

Thanks a ton.

Hi cako
Depends completely on the structure of your apartment.
You could try floor and ceiling first, if this doesn’t attenuate the sound enough move on to the walls.
